bowties with sausage, tomato, and cream

Ingredients:

1 pkg bowtie pasta (usually 12-16oz) cooked according to pkg directions

2 T olive oil

1 lb Italian sausage (we do the spicy sausage but you do you)

1 small onion, diced

1 t dried red pepper flakes (optional)

3 cloves garlic, chopped or minced

2lbs roma tomatoes, diced (or you can do two cans of Italian style tomatoes)

1 ½ C heavy whipping cream

½ -1 t salt

¼ t pepper

Fresh parsley or basil for garnish and a little extra flavor.

Directions:

Heat heavy skillet over medium/high heat. Add oil then add sausage and onion, Brown until the sausage is cooked all the way through. Drain the fat and return to the stove.  Add in garlic and pepper flakes and cook 1-2 minutes, or until garlic softens. 

Add the tomatoes, cream, salt and pepper. Stir and cook 8-10 minutes or until the sauce thickens. 

Add pasta and parsley/basil. Season with salt/pepper to taste.
