Spicy Creamy Penne

Creamy and spicy and enough said. Its always a win when the whole house falls in love with a dish. And that is exactly what happened with this one. You can adjust the spice level. We make it a little tame then add copious amounts of cayenne to our individual dishes. So yummy. 







  • 2 T grated parmesan cheese

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 12oz jarred marinara sauce (avoid thick sauce)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup chicken stock

  • 1/4 tsp + crushed red pepper flakes (adjust depending on how spicy you like it)

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • Sliced mushrooms (about 4 ounces)

  • 3 small tomatoes, diced

  • 2 cups baby spinach

  • 16oz penne pasta

  • grated parmesan cheese for garnish




  1. Prepare penne pasta per package instructions..

  2. Add 2 tbsp of oil to a skillet and cook garlic until fragrant over medium heat

  3. Add in diced tomatoes and chicken stock. Cook for 1 minute



  4. Add marinara sauce and crushed red pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.

  5. Stir in cream.

  6. Add mushrooms and spinach. Cook until heated through.

  7. Toss with penne.

  8. Garnish with additional parmesan cheese.
