Homemade Gelatin Cups


These homemade gelatin cups are super easy and you get to control what goes into them! Gelatin is full of good nutrients that our bodies love. Our favorite gelatin cup is made with orange mango juice and has mandarin oranges in it. You can use any liquid you want and leave the fruit out, or choose a different fruit. We use Great Lakes Gelatin that we order online. While this is an easy snack to make, the steps are a little different than traditional jell-o packets.

Ingredients:

2 Cups liquid (divided 1.5 and .5 cups)

1 T Gelatin

Fruit (optional)

Directions:

1. Measure 1.5 cups of liquid and heat on the stove

2. Measure .5 cups of liquid and place in a sealable container...you'll be mixing stuff up.

3. Add 1 T gelatin to the .5 cups of liquid, seal the container and shake up. This is called "tempering"

4. Mix the tempered gelatin in with the heated gelatin

5. Put fruit in each container then pour the gelatin over it

6. Refrigerate a few hours and it is ready to eat!

Our batch, complete with lots of mandarin oranges, makes 7-4 oz cups.
