HOT Wings

We LOVE wings. Sometimes we use wings, sometimes we use drumsticks, sometimes we use mini drum sticks (drumettes). We experimented with lots of recipes before we came up with one that we love. Here it is...

         

3/4 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon cayenne        

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

 3 (ish) pounds wing/drumettes

 1/2 cup butter

 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank's RedHot®)

 

 

        

 

Get a Ziploc and put the flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt in and shake it up, ♪ up, up, up, shake it up. Add the chicken wings, seal, and toss until well coated with the flour mixture. Throw the bag in the fridge for an hour.

           

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Get a baking sheet and put some foil on it (for easy clean up) and grease it down. Melt the butter in the microwave or over low heat on the stove. Mix in the hot sauce and pour it in a bowl when its all mixed up. One at a time, dip the chicken pieces into the butter mixture, and put on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is no longer pink in the center, and crispy on the outside, about 45 minutes. Turn the wings over halfway during cooking so they cook evenly.

 

 

IMPORTANT

Chicken needs to reach a temp of 165
